The conference will take place in the historic setting of the Scuola Normale Superiore (SNS). Located in one of the main squares of the city, the SNS offers a unique academic atmosphere within one of Italy’s most prestigious institutions. How to reach the venue

By airplane: The Airport of Pisa (Galileo Galilei) is near the city center and it is served by major airlines. The Airport of Florence is the next closest airport to the city of Pisa. It is linked to the central train station (Santa Maria Novella) of Florence by tram and by train to Pisa. It takes about 20 minutes to travel from Florence airport to the train station (€1,70), and about an hour to travel from Florence to Pisa by train (€9,30).

SNS can be reached from Pisa Airport by either taking the light train called "PisaMover" to the train station (€6,50) and then walking to Piazza dei Cavalieri (approximately 20 minutes) or walking all the way from the airport (approximately 40 minutes). Alternatively one can take a taxi; the trip from the airport to the SNS costs about €15.

By train: The main station (Pisa Centrale) is located in the city center, about 1 km from the SNS. Walking from the train station to SNS takes approximately 20 minutes, crossing town through the main shopping street.

By car: Arriving from the Highway Firenze - Pisa "Autostrada A11-E76" or Genova - Rosignano "Autostrada A12-E80", take the exit at Pisa Nord and continue on Strada Statale n.1 "Aurelia" for 8 km. Then turn left in Viale delle Cascine. Pass in Via Contessa Matilde (note the leaning tower at your right) and continue straight ahead for 1 km. From this point you can walk towards the center of Pisa in order to reach Piazza dei Cavalieri.

The welcome reception will take place at Pick a Flower, located in the heart of Pisa, on the evening of the first day (November 26), offering the participants a chance to meet and network in a relaxed environment.

The official conference dinner will be held at the elegant Restaurant La Clessidra, located in a small square in the very center of town, known for its refined Tuscan cuisine.

Accommodation

Although Pisa is a relatively small city, we recommend booking accommodation in the city center to make it easy to move around on foot and fully enjoy the city's charm. The conference venue, reception and dinner location are all within walking distance
